Song of the day :: We All Need Saving. Jon McLaughlin.

THIS SONG IS WONDEROUS! There is something about acapella sounds that makes me get goose bumps. We all need saving sometimes folks. Beautiful message and Jon McLaughlin has a dreamy voice. I LOVE IT.

Come on, come on
You have got to move on
This is not the you I know
This isn't real
It's just all you can feel
And that's the way that feelings go
And Whether or not it's right or wrong you'll do what you will do

Chorus:
When the cloud in the sky starts to pour
and your life is just a storm you're braving
Don't tell yourself you can't lean on someone else
Cause we all need saving sometimes

Say what you will but the time that we fill
While we're on the earth
should not be alone
We were meant to be known
You make me what I'm worth
But I cant keep you from yourself you'll do what you will do
(chorus)

I don't know why it has to be this way
and I don't know the cure
But please believe someone has felt this before
(chorus)

Song of the day :: Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever). Muse.

So...I really am not that super obsessed with the Twilight series to have meant to put so many songs that are related to it...haha I just watched this music video for the first time and was like "dude...people are going to think you need to get a life." ANYWAY...
I have a secret and strange love for this slightly whiney group...I think they are so freaking talented. And this song is magic also. I know that my love is FOREVER :)

I was searching
You were on a mission
Then our hearts combined like
A neutron star collision

I have nothing left to lose
You took your time to choose
Then we told each other
With no trace of fear that...

Our love would be forever
And if we die
We die together
And lie, I said never
'Cause our love would be forever

The world is broken
Halos fail to glisten
You try to make a difference
But no one wants to listen

Hail, The preachers, fake and proud
Their doctrines will be cloud
Then they'll dissipate
Like snowflakes in an ocean

Love is forever
And we'll die, we'll die together
And lie, I say never
'Cause our love could be forever

Now I've got nothing left to lose
You take your time to choose
I can tell you now without a trace of fear

That my love will be forever
And we'll die we'll die together
Lie, I will never
'Cause our love will be forever

Song of the other day :: Alligator Sky. Owl City.

Ok so I found the version of Alligator Sky that I really like. There isn't a rapper in this version and I like it better. So like this one more ok! haha

Song of the day :: Edge of Glory. Lady Gaga.

Alright so I started watching Lady Gaga's music video to this song and it was a bit uncomfortable...I have to say she is the most bizzare person I have seen...but I totally just woke up with the chorus of this song stuck in my head. Its a great sing-along song cause it repeats itself so much haha. So get up and dance! Its gonna be a good week!

Song of the day Numero dos :: Alligator Sky. Owl City featuring Shawn Chrystopher.

OK and this song has do be another more favorite song of mine...My most wonderful musical siblings Gretchen and Landon introduced me to this magical lil ditty-You have to turn your speakers up for this one.

Where was I when the rockets came to life
And carried you away into the alligator sky
Even though, I'll never know what's up ahead
I'm never lettin' go, I'm never lettin' go

[Shawn Chrystopher - Rap Verse 1]
Uh uh, that's not a plane, that's me
I'm sittin' where I'm supposed to
Floatin' on the cloud, can't nobody come close to
The concrete and the sky switch places
So now my ceiling is painted with cosmic spaces
Firecracker to the moon, keep your eyes shut
Blastin' off like a rocket from the ground up
Heh, I used to catch a cab on the Monday
Now the taxi's sellin' lights on the runway, fly
Condo on the milky way
A house on the cloud and my landlord
And for my rent all I pay is my drive
Got that so If you need me you can find me in the alligator sky

[Chorus]
Where was I when the rockets came to life
And carried you away into the alligator sky
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead
I'm never lettin' go, I'm never lettin' go

[Bridge]
Roller coaster through the atmosphere
I'm drowning in this starry serenade
Where ecstasy becomes cavalier
My imagination's taking me away

Reverie whispered in my ear
I'm scared to death that I'll never be afraid
Roller coaster through the atmosphere
My imagination's taking me away

[Shawn Chrystopher - Rap Verse 2]
Uh, now I'mma dance like I never dance
Sing like I never sing, dream like I've never dreamed
Or try to, 'cause we've been lied to
That the sun is somethin' that we can't fly to
Well, I sit on my star and see street lights
Look up, ha, you'll miss me if you blink twice
Imagination is hot and if you got it you can meet me
When you see me in the alligator sky

[Chorus]
Where was I when the rockets came to life
And carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead
I'm never lettin' go, I'm never lettin' go

Where was I when the rockets came to life
And carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead
I'm never lettin' go, I'm never lettin' go

In the alligator sky...

Song of the day :: The Cave. Mumford & Sons.

Ok so this song has been my song of the day recently (within the past year) but I just LOVE THIS SONG! And I like the cool guys in the uniforms cause they are just...cool. The lyrics are great, the sound is even more great, and the trumpets seal the deal.

It's empty in the valley of your heart
The sun, it rises slowly as you walk
Away from all the fears
And all the faults you've left behind

The harvest left no food for you to eat
You cannibal, you meat-eater, you see
But I have seen the same
I know the shame in your defeat

But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

Cause I have other things to fill my time
You take what is yours and I'll take mine
Now let me at the truth
Which will refresh my broken mind

So tie me to a post and block my ears
I can see widows and orphans through my tears
I know my call despite my faults
And despite my growing fears

But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

So come out of your cave walking on your hands
And see the world hanging upside down
You can understand dependence
When you know the maker's hand

So make your siren's call
And sing all you want
I will not hear what you have to say

Cause I need freedom now
And I need to know how
To live my life as it's meant to be

And I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

Song of the day :: My Front Porch Looking In. Lonestar.

I know what some of you might be thinking-what the heck is Abby Graham (Baird) doing listening to a country song?! I must admit that I have had a slight change of heart concerning all country music. Mostly thanks to my sweet Heber-grown husband who only knows Mormon Tabernacle and Country songs...haha. But I have to say I really love this song. It totally says it all, what really matters, in those lyrics. Great song

The only ground I ever owned was sticking to my shoes
Now I look at my front porch and this panoramic view
I can sit and watch the fields fill up
With rays of glowing sun
Or watch the moon lay on the fences
Like that's where it was hung
My blessings are in front of me
It's not about the land
I'll never beat the view
From my front porch looking in

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
And the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in, yeah

I've traveled here and everywhere
Following my job
I've seen the paintings from the air
Brushed by the hand of God
The mountains and the canyons reach from sea to shining sea
But I can't wait to get back home
To the one he made for me
It's anywhere I'll ever go and everywhere I've been
Nothing takes my breath away
Like my front porch looking in

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in

I see what beautiful is about
When I'm looking in
Not when I'm looking out

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most

Oh, the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in
Yeah
Oh, there's a carrot top who can barely walk
(From my front porch looking in)
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong, yeah
And the most beautiful girl
(Beautiful girl
From my front porch looking in)
Holding both of them
Oh, yeah

Song of the day :: Wunderkind. Alanis Morisette.

So we watched "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" the other night for the hundredth time (because we just love it that much) and I never really listened to the song at the end of the movie. It is FANTASTIC! The lyrics are even better! Listen and realize that we are all a "Wunderkind."
Oh perilous place walk backwards toward you
Blink disbelieving eyes chilled to the bone
Most visibly brave no aprehended gloom
First to take this foot to virgin snow

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
And I lift the envelope pushed far enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

Destined to serve, destined to roam

Oh ominous place spellbound and unchild-proofed
My least favorite chill to bare alone
Compatriots in place they'd cringe if I told you
Our best back-pocket secret our bond full-blown

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a pioneer naive enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

Destined to seek, destined to know

Most beautiful place reborn and blown off roof
My view about-face whether great will be done

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a ground-breaker naive enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a Joan of Arc and smart enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam

Song of the day :: Iridescent. Linkin Park.

This has a great message to it. I really enjoyed the lyrics to this song. Linkin Park has come out with a couple new songs that I really enjoy. I haven't seen the last Transformers so the video is a little bizzare to me but cool just the same. Read the lyrics. Cause they are good.

When you were standing in the wake of devastation
when you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
with the cataclysm raining down, insides crying save me now
you were there and possibly alone.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failiures all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

And in the burst of light that blinded every angel
as if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
you felt the gravity of temper grace falling into empty space
no one there to catch you in there arms

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failiures all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

(Multiple Voices)
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failiures all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go,

let it go
let it go
let it go
let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failiures all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

Song of the day :: Last Unicorn. Kenny Loggins.

This song was one of my childhood favorites...I would listen to this CD almost every night before I went to bed. I know the music video is real cheezy but I love the beautiful piano and lyrics to this song. Reminds me of when I was a wee lil one...

Song of the day :: Love You Madly. Cake.

This was my song of the day on my sweet hubby Tyler Baird's 24th Birthday on Saturday! Yay I love that man! THis song is rockin so enjoy.

Song of the day :: I Was Broken. Marcus Foster.

Ok. So this song hands down makes my TOP TEN ULTIMATE FAVES EVER IN THE WORLD list. I listened to it today and freaked out because it was so increadibly amazing. It has a little of everything I love in it-the lyrics are a beauty, the slightly raspy musical voice, the excellent use of all sorts of beautiful instruments, and the sound just envelopes you so turn your speakers up and love ittt!
PS this song has not officially come out until the 19th, so I had to make a link to get to it. Its worth going to I PROMISE!
